For the Love....

I was just about to turn off my TV and write a scathing blog post about how much it sucks to be a Red Sox fan. I was going to go on and on about how on this day, the four year anniversary of Aaron F'n Boone, Wakefield came into the game pitching like an ace and has a bad inning. They take Wake out and all of the sudden we're down 7-0 in the 5th.

But then come the back, to back, to back homeruns by Youk, Papi and Manny. Suddenly we've made ALCS history* (again) and are somewhat back in the game.

Now I can't turn off the TV...argh....

*The Red Sox are the first team to hit back-to-back-to-back in LCS History.

So...the Sox hit back-to-back-to-back homers, making history, and the charming Cleveland fans toss the balls back on the field. Very classy. Not even the Evil Empire fans do crap like that (granted, because they want to put the balls on Ebay, but still...).
That 5th inning was a disaster. They'll be showing that on highlight reels every year during playoff time, probably with that horrible "Our Country" song in the background to help us relive the day.

Can we please LOSE Tim and Joe and FOX and replace them with, well...anyone or anything? If I hear that "Cleveland Rocks" ditty one more time I'll flip!!!!

PREDICTION for Thursday night: Two men on, one out, and up to the plate comes Eric Hinske, substituting for Manny in left field, as Manny went behind the left field wall to go to the bathroom and never came back.

Hinske, having limited experience at that position, costs us 13 runs in the third after dropping a ball when his shoes fell off after he smacked into the outfield wall.

Terry Francona, after consulting with Big O and JT the Brick, finally decides it's time to put in Ellisbury, who immediately suffers a career-ending injury.

Just then, into the park comes a large, overweight black guy, who says over the jumbo-tron:

"Eight dollars for a hot dog? Y'all must be crazy!!" and removes all beer from the ballpark, causing a riot. The crowd settles down as they are soothed over the loudspeakers with "This is our country" being played on a continuous loop.

Red Sox 3, Indians 13.5 (do to undecisive umpiring).

I was excited about them making history for two seconds, then I realized in no way would it help us win the game, unless we could hit 7 in a row. Which would have been AWESOME. But alas...no 7 HRs, and now we have quite a hole to dig out of.
